Single-and-a-half Cleanroom Door

The Single-and-a-half, or master-slave, Cleanroom Door combines a main leaf and a smaller auxiliary leaf in one frame. In daily use only the main leaf is opened for staff to walk through; when a wide machine, trolley or bed has to pass, both leaves are opened together to give the full clear width. The door is built from cold-rolled steel sheet with a high-temperature baked paint, or from 304 stainless steel, with a 1.2 mm frame and a 0.8 mm leaf filled with paper honeycomb or aluminum honeycomb for a rigid, light panel. A sealed double-layer tempered-glass viewing window is set into the leaf, operated by a stainless steel handle lock, and the door pushes left or right to suit the circulation. The standard size is 1200x2100x50 mm, with non-standard sizes available. The auxiliary leaf stays latched shut and sealed in daily use and is unlatched only when a wide load must pass, so the smaller main leaf alone carries the handle lock and the daily wear of opening and closing.

This door solves a real layout dilemma buyers face in service and production areas. A plant that needs both everyday pedestrian flow AND the occasional passage of wide equipment usually has to choose: a narrow single door that the machine cannot fit through, or a fully double door that stays oversized and drafty for the staff traffic it mostly serves. The master-slave split lets the opening behave as a narrow pedestrian door 95% of the time - holding a better seal and looking proportionate - and then widen to 1200 mm only on the days equipment is moved. That means the buyer builds one opening instead of two separate doorways, and keeps the normally-closed auxiliary leaf sealed rather than admitting air through a door that almost never opens. The auxiliary leaf also stays sealed even while the main leaf is propped open for a passing trolley.
