Handmade Mineral Wool Cleanroom Board

The Handmade Mineral Wool Cleanroom Board is a color-coated steel faced panel with a rockwool core and internal reinforcing keels, assembled by hand rather than on a continuous machine line. In the hand process, internal steel keels are fixed inside the panel before the rockwool is packed and the color-coated skins are pressed on, which lets the panel be engineered around specific structural requirements - greater load capacity, larger spans or non-standard dimensions - instead of being locked to a fixed machine width. The rockwool core supplies insulation, sound damping and fire resistance, and jointing is via a male-female slot or aluminum center profile chosen to suit the room. The board is built to project size, giving flexibility for cleanroom layouts where a standard machine panel will not fit, and the hand assembly also allows local reinforcement exactly where the room needs it, rather than over-building the whole sheet, in 50 to 100 mm thickness. The male-female slot or aluminum center joint keeps the seam aligned and sealed, and the wider 1180 mm sheet reduces the number of panels to handle on site.

The hand process is justified only when the job demands structure the machine line cannot give: internal keels and project-specific sizing allow larger spans, higher point-load capacity and odd dimensions that a fixed-width machine panel cannot cover. Choose this over a machine rockwool panel when the cleanroom has wide bays, equipment-load walls or custom openings, because the built-in framing carries point loads such as mounted ductwork or signage without bowing the skin. You pay for engineered structure and flexibility, not for a better fire core - rockwool already provides fire resistance - so the premium buys adaptability to the actual room geometry and the certainty that mounted equipment will not bow the wall face after installation, protecting the cleanroom finish long term and avoiding costly on-site reinforcement.
